European Facility For Airborne Research Dec. 3, 2024, 18:26
Publisher: German Aerospace Center (DLR)
Platform: Linux
Software / Code: IDL/ENVI
Requirements: IDL/ENVI (GUI-based plug-in to the ENVI software package)
Features: The focus of the toolbox is set on preprocessing and workflow automation for field measurements and smaller image cubes. Especially when applied to solve repetitive tasks the toolbox can demonstrate its potential, e.g. during spectral library preprocessing.

SPECCHIO |
Publisher: Remote Sensing Laboratories (RSL), University of Zurich
Platform:
Software / Code:
Requirements: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.5 or higher
Features: SPECCHIO is a spectral information system designed to hold reference spectra and spectral campaign data obtained by spectroradiometers. The inclusion of a rich metadata set in the data model ensures the longevity of spectral data and enables the sharing of spectral data between research groups.
The SPECCHIO system consists of two parts: (a) a MySQL database on a database server and (b) a Java client application. Direct connection with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) enables working with the spatial dimension of field samples. Combining the power of Matlab with the spectral and metadata held by SPECCHIO: this feature allows querying and loading data directly into Matlab using SPECCHIO Java components.

Features: The toolbox can import spectra acquired on spectroradiometers manufactured by Analytical Spectral Devices (ASD), Spectra Vista Corporation (SVC), Ocean Optics and the Field Spectroscopy Facility (FSF). It can post process spectra to calculate spectral reflectance, radiance and irradiance. It also provides functions for spectral smoothing with a Savitzky-Golay filter and the removal of the spectral regions dominated by water absorption. Field spectra may be compared with measurements made by satellite or airborne instruments by convolving the field spectra with the relative spectral response functions (bands) of these instruments.
