The Italian CNR, National Research Council, has established the LARA project (Airborne Laboratory for Environmental Research), to support environmental research by means of an advanced airborne remote sensing system.
LARA, which is at present a division of the Institute on Atmospheric Pollution, has acquired the airborne hyperspectral MIVIS (Multispectral Infrared Visible Imaging Spectrometer - Daedalus AA5000) to deploy its research activities. Since 1994 LARA has been attending to MIVIS data processing, quality assessment and distribution, and carrying out studies involving different scientific disciplines like Agronomy, Archaeology, Botany, Geology, Hydrology, Pedology, Urban Planning, Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences. |
