Institution description | The Institute of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (I.P.F.) conducts research and education in the fields of photogrammetry and remote sensing. It has research groups dealing with geometric modeling (Norbert Pfeifer), physical modeling (Wolfgang Wagner), and image processing (Josef Jansa). The groups cooperate closely to fully utilize technological capabilities offered by photogrammetry and remote sensing to provide essential geo-spatial data for environmental and societal applications (flood warning, city modelling, urban developments, climate change impacts, documentation of cultural heritage etc.). IPF is active (among others) in Airborne and Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Microwave Remote Sensing (including soil moisture determination), Topographic Modelling and Visualisations of LiDAR data and photogrammetrically acquired data (e.g. Mars Express HRSC for the Planet Mars). |
