| Institution description | Institute for Environmental Solutions was established in September 2008. It is a non-profit, independent, applied research organization dedicated to creation of research-based solutions that contribute to sustainable environmental management and wise use of natural resources. Particularly, the Institute will strive for excellence in research and development of innovative remote sensing solutions for assessment of natural resources and environmental state, and for sustainable management of the environment. The Institute is situated in the airfield close to the city of Cesis in Latvia and has access to 3 aircrafts, one of which is a a twin engine aircraft Observer P68 manufactured in 2007 equipped with a LIDAR system and a hyperspectral remote sensing system CASI 1500. |
