Institution description | MetROBS, an accredited Global Environmental Facility NGO, established on 1986 in Benevento (Southern Italy). Its mission is to advance understanding of the natural systems that create the Earth's weather and climate, by maintaining its meteorological station and GIS-Lab in Calore River Basin. Under my position of executive manager, in 2002, with the concomitant structural reorganization of the former Italian Hydrological Service and water management components, MetROBS has joined to regional programme of Hydropluviometric Monitoring of Campania Region (Department of Civil Protection and Programming on Territory). From November 2004 MetROBS endorsed by Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring Sites (TEMS)-Database of the FAO, and successively engaged by several international networks as: 1) SedNet – http://www.sednet.org/component/option,com_comprofiler/task,userProfile/user,887/ 2) eFlowNet - http://www.eflownet.org/index.cfm?linkcategoryid=1&FuseAction=main 3) European Drought Centre - http://www.geo.uio.no/edc/ 4) Long-Term Soil Ecosystem Studies - http://ltse.env.duke.edu/diodato_nazzareno 5) Inter-American Network for Atmospheric/Biosperic Studies - http://www.ipicyt.edu.mx/IANABIS/ 6) MedClivar – Mediterranean Climate Variability - http://www.medclivar.eu/ |
