The workshop was held in Paris on 25-26 March 2004.

- Central theme : discussion on a list of collaborative actions that can be be proposed within EUFAR frame (identify the domains in which co-operation within the EUFAR Network will bring most valuable benefits, improvements of the cost/effectiveness and the quality of service).
- The planned sessions were:
1) "Interaction of scientific goals and data processing" :
How can progress in data processing help scientific analysis ? Which new features are expected ?
2) "Algorithms" : presentations of new or promising algorithms and processing methods.
3) "Architectures" : Presentations of existing processing architectures, with respect to their abilities to handle quality requirements : adaptability (to new aircraft/instrument algorithms), portability, traceability, integration with other tools, ability to keep up with most recent scientific work.
4) Open discussion on proposals
5) Conclusion.
