Description | The EUFAR N6SP group will be holding its first meeting at Meteo-France in Toulouse on June 29-30 to define technical details of the software to be developed for aircraft data processing, standardization and inter-comparison. The goals of the meeting are the following: 1) Determine the programming language to be used for the development of the software package. The software developed must be cross-platform and not tied to any proprietary programming or scripting package (e.g. IDL, MATLAB). 2) Define standards for data and metadata. This includes input and output formats (e.g. ASCII, NetCDF, HDF), variable and attribute naming conventions, and time averaging. 3) Define the scope of the software. Will it only be used for processing of aircraft data, or will visualization capabilities be included? 4) Define a procedure for selection of state of the art processing algorithms to be included in the library (contributions from the Expert Working Group). |
