European Facility For Airborne Research

Initialy planned for May 2002, this workshop has been postponed to Fall 2002 joining other EUFAR expert workshops held at CIRA (Italy).
During the Inlet workshop (Leipzig, April 2002), it has been discussed the necessity to have comparisons between models of airflow disturbance using different programs. <BR>This request should give a good base for discussion for the oncoming workshop and help in the mean time the Inlet-users community.

Activities that will be carried out by the Expert Group will include intercomparison exercises, building a database of instrumentation across Europe, aiding in the installation of instrumentation on a wide range of platforms and building links that enable greater collaborative use of the aircraft in the fleet.
We have financial support from the European Science Foundation to support scientists attending workshops on key issues related to airflow distortion.
This support will also extend to one or two invited experts from outside Europe.

I will be organising the first such workshop for this Group in spring 2002. It is the intention that by building a network of interested researchers we can foster greater collaboration and a useful exchange of ideas and expertise. This will lead to a more effective use of the aircraft fleet.
