EUFAR Webinars thematic group: Vegetation
17 June 2024, 15.00-17.00 CET (GMT +2h)

Access to the webinar: Online

Aerial data are very often used for vegetation analysis. This includes vegetation in urban areas as well as natural vegetation in protected areas. On the webinar will be presented the various topics regarding vegetation analyses:
• vegetation identification in protected areas - mountainous areas and wetlands;
• analyses of the state of vegetation in urban areas;
• the possibilities for determining the impact of threats such as drying and heavy metal contamination on the state of vegetation.

Program:

15:00 – 15:20 An assessment of the utility of textural features for identifying wetland vegetation;
Jarocińska, Anna (ajarocinska@uw.edu.pl); Kopeć, Dominik; Kycko, Marlena; Niedzielko, Jan.

15:20 – 15:40 High-mountain vegetation mapping with hyperspectral data;
Marcinkowska-Ochtyra, Adriana (adriana.marcinkowska@uw.edu.pl).

15:40 – 16:00 An assessment of urban tree condition using hyperspectral imagery and airborne laser scanning data;
Ochtyra, Adrian (adrian.ochtyra@uw.edu.pl).

16:00 – 16:20 Assessment of urban greenery and perceived temperature using airborne remote sensing;
Kopkáně, Daniel (kopkane.d@czechglobe.cz).

16:20 – 16:40 The application of remote sensing analysis to assess the content of heavy metals in vegetation;
Kycko, Marlena (marlenakycko@uw.edu.pl); Kopeć, Dominik; Żmuda, Dominik; Romanowska, Elżbieta; Okupny, Daniel.

16:40 – 17:00 A comparative analysis of airborne hyperspectral and thermal infrared data in the assessment of peatland drying: a case study of Tuchola Forest, Poland;
Wietecha, Martyna (mwietecha@mggpaero.com).

During the meeting, images of people participating in the EUFAR Webinar will be recorded, and the obtained print screens will be published on the https://www.eufar.net/ and the EUFAR’ social media to promote the event.
