| Abstract: | We introduce a ray-tracing based approach for mapping occluded areas in airborne laser scanning (ALS) data for a temperate mixed forest in Switzerland. Furthermore, the approach showed promising results towards a three-dimensional retrieval of plant area index (PAI) from ALS data. |
