Institution description Founded in 1802, Hungarian National Museum has the greatest historical collection from the Carpathian-basin, collecting and excavating sites throughout Hungary since then. Its affiliated istitute, the National Heritage Center is a major institute, founded for coordinate and supervise large scale excavation across Hungary. Our topographical department’s task is to find and diagnose the exact location of archaeological sites before major constructions. Doing so in the last 4 years it has became a research workshop also, studying site location modelling, archaeological remote sensing, predictive modelling.
