| Institution description | The Department of Hydraulic Engineering and Environmental Applications (DIIAA) was founded more than one century ago with the name of School of Hydraulics and its Faculty is made by 7 Full Professors, 6 Associate Professors, 5 Researchers and 11 Research Associate and more than 40 Ph.D students and research collaborators. The DIIAA is involved in two BA programmes and two MS programmes (Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering). The Department runs 1 PhD (Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering) and it co-runs several Master courses and PhD programmes with other departments based on linkages between Technology, Hydraulic infrastructures and Environment. This academic institution has been performing both basic and applicative research in the following main domains: •Remote sensing applications in hydrology and water bodies’ environmental preservation. •Applications of Eco-hydrology. •Drought forecasting and climate change. •Hillslope erosion and sediment delivery in natural watersheds. •Basic Hydraulic research. •Urban water supply. •Flooding risk evaluation. •Urban drainage and receiving water body quality. •Waste water Treatment. •Contaminated Soils analysis and assessment. •Water quality and quantity assessment in natural and artificial water systems |
