Additional information

Hot wire instrument. Ice or water impacts heated wire. This alters resistance of wire as water/ice evaporates. Part of balanced bridge, with control wire on rear of instrument, shielded from water/ice.
Instrument vane has two sensors, one for cloud liquid water and one for total condensate (cloud liquid water + rain/drizzle + ice). Vane is freely rotating to align to local airflow direction.
