European Facility For Airborne Research May 26, 2018, 04:11
|Name||FAAM TSI-3786 Ultra FIne water-based CPC|
|Name||Condensation Particle Counter (CPC)|
|Acronym||Condensation Particle Counter|
|Measured parameter||Number concentration of submicrometer aerosol particles|
The particles are detected and counted by a simple optical detector after a supersaturation vapor (butanol or water) condenses onto the particles, causing them to grow into larger droplets. The CPC uses a (laser diode) light source, a condensing lense, an internal microprocessor control, volumetric flow control and a front panel display.
|Measurement(s)||Clouds & Precipitation|
|External dimension||Dimensions (HWD) 31 × 16 × 28 cm (12 × 6 × 11 in.), not including fill bottle or bracket|
|Operating mode||In situ|
Environmental Operating Conditions
Access to air sample pipe inlet/outlet
Approved by CAA for use on BAe 146-301.
Available from FAAM
